Google Cloud gives Gemini Agent its own Gmail address, calendar, and Drive — multi-step workflows run up to seven days

VentureBeat CryptoBriefing

If you've been building agent workflows where persistence across sessions is your problem to solve — context stores you maintain, memory that doesn't survive the process — Google Cloud's Gemini Agent describes a different architecture. Google announced the product on October 8. The announcement came at the Gemini at Work 2026 event. Each agent instance comes with a dedicated Gmail address and Google Calendar access. It also receives Google Drive storage and a cryptographically attested identity.

Google says the agent runs Gemini 3.1 with Smart Routing. That routing layer, per Google, draws from more than 200 models, including Anthropic Claude. Google describes four memory tiers the agent maintains: session, semantic, procedural, and episodic. Google says multi-step workflows can run for up to seven days.

If you're building workflows where agent continuity across days — not just across turns — is a design constraint, this is one platform-managed answer to that problem.

Gemini Agent is in private preview — no general availability date, selection criteria not disclosed

VentureBeat CryptoBriefing

Google Cloud launched Gemini Agent on October 8. It is in private preview for a select group of customers. No general availability date has been announced. The service is included in Gemini Enterprise at no additional charge.

Selection criteria for the preview are not public. Named early-deployment customers include BNP Paribas and SOMPO. BNP Paribas employs more than 65,000 people. Google says SOMPO has built over 10,000 custom agents.

If your builds depend on multi-day agent persistence and you're deciding whether to pursue early access, the available information right now is that there's no GA date and no disclosed path for selection.
